RAISING AWARENESS, SUPPORTING SURVIVORS, AND STOPPING PERPETRATORS
Simply put, our mission is to end human trafficking worldwide.
Awareness is the first step. Children and parents, in conjunction with educators, must understand this issue is real and know how to recognize the signs to prevent it from happening to themselves as well as to others.
To face that challenge, we have created the One Generation Education Program, which children, parents and educators can use to discuss this difficult topic. Our program is a unique blend of traditional materials and a Virtual Reality simulation that lets you walk in the shoes of a victim.
One Generation Learning Objectives:
- Realize trafficking is in your neighborhood
- Recognize the signs of being trafficked
- Be aware of different types of grooming
- Share awareness and accurate knowledge
- Get involved locally
Educational materials provide context and facts related to grooming, online safety, healthy relationships, sex education, drug abuse, psychological manipulation, physical safety, runaways, extortion, and more.
Central to the program is our application, TRAPPED: A VR Detective Story, which uses Virtual Reality to bring the educational materials to life in a way not possible in a written book, PowerPoint, or movie. You experience a day in the life of Lisa, a young girl that was conditioned into being trafficked. Through VR, Lisa tells you how it felt as she slipped further into her trafficker’s grasp, describing red flags that were brushed off but didn’t have to be. Instead of focusing on fear tactics, we use storytelling to show users that human trafficking is a real problem, but the solution becomes a reality when people are educated enough to be able to shine a light on their own communities and lives. Become part of our mission to end human trafficking in one generation, today.
